3. Collection and storage of personal data and purpose of processing

3.2. Email contact

If you contact us via the email addresses published in the app, your inquiry and the contact details you provide will be stored by us to process the inquiry and in case of follow-up questions. The legal basis for data processing is your consent pursuant to Art. 6(1)(a) of the GDPR.

4. Retention period for your data

We store your personal data only for as long as is necessary for the purposes stated here or as required by statutory retention periods. After that, the data is routinely blocked or deleted in accordance with legal requirements.

5. Security

To protect the data you entrust to us from manipulation, loss, destruction, or unauthorized access, BMV implements technical and organizational IT security measures. For the secure transmission of your data, we use state-of-the-art encryption methods (e.g., SSL) via HTTPS. We store your information on secure servers in Germany. Access to this data is restricted to a small number of specially authorized individuals who are responsible for the technical, commercial, or editorial management of the servers.

6. Data subject rights

You have the right at any time to receive information free of charge regarding your personal data processed by us. You also have the right to rectification, restriction of processing, and — except for legally mandated retention obligations — deletion of your data.

If you exercise any of the aforementioned rights, we are obligated — to the extent possible or reasonable — to notify all recipients to whom your personal data has been disclosed of the correction, erasure, or restriction of processing. You have the right to be informed of these recipients.

Furthermore, you have the right to receive the personal data you have provided to us in a structured, commonly used, and machine-readable format or to request that it be transmitted to another controller.

If your personal data is processed on the basis of legitimate interests pursuant to Art. 6(1)(f) of the GDPR, you have the right to object to the processing of your personal data, provided there are grounds for doing so arising from your particular situation.

If the data processing was carried out with your consent, you have the right to withdraw your consent at any time. Please note, however, that the withdrawal is only effective for the future and does not apply retroactively to processing that has already taken place.
